Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance for pumps

ifm vibration and temperature sensors and Prediktis analytics flag bearing wear, misalignment or cavitation before the pump stops. Plan the intervention instead of suffering it.

Why it matters

An unplanned shutdown costs more than monitoring

With a critical pump, a failure means lost production, emergency repairs and sometimes collateral damage. Yet most mechanical faults show signs weeks in advance: vibration and temperature rise gradually.

Together with our partners, ifm for sensors and Prediktis for analytics and alerting, we offer a monitoring solution for your existing pumps, including brands other than KSB.

Technical guide

Faults that can be caught early

Worn bearings

Rising vibration at specific frequencies appears long before the bearing seizes.

Misalignment and imbalance

A misaligned coupling or an unbalanced impeller shows up in the vibration spectrum.

Cavitation

Characteristic noise and vibration show that the pump is running with insufficient suction.

Overheating

Bearing temperature rises with insufficient lubrication or overload.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about predictive monitoring

Which pumps are worth monitoring?

Critical pumps: those that stop production or supply when they fail, those without standby, and those with high repair costs.

Does it also work on pumps of other brands?

Yes. ifm sensors and Prediktis analytics do not depend on the pump manufacturer.

Does the pump have to be stopped to fit the sensors?

Usually not. The sensors are attached to the bearing housing without stopping the line.

Who receives the alerts?

Your maintenance team, by email or in the platform, when vibration or temperature exceeds the set thresholds.
