KSB chemical pumps and magnetic-drive pumps

Pumps for acids, alkalis, solvents and toxic, flammable or hot fluids: MegaCPK and CPKN with mechanical seals, Magnochem with magnetic drive, leak-free.

Why it matters

Materials and sealing are chosen to suit the fluid

With a chemical pump, the most expensive mistake is not an oversized pump, but the wrong material or a seal that fails: leaks, corrosion, shutdowns and risks to people.

We start from the fluid data (concentration, temperature, solids, viscosity) and choose the casing and impeller materials, the seal type or magnetic drive, plus the ATEX version where the zone requires it.

Technical guide

What we need for a chemical pump

The fluid

Name, concentration, density, viscosity and whether it contains solid particles. The safety data sheet helps.

Temperature and pressure

Operating temperature (minimum and maximum) and suction pressure, so we can choose the right seal.

The duty point

Flow rate and pumping head, plus the suction conditions (NPSH available).

Installation area

Whether the pump operates in an ATEX zone and how the zone is classified.

KSB equipment

What we supply for this application

Each product has technical data, a PDF datasheet and a quote request. Add them to your request or let the engineer choose.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about chemical and magnetic-drive pumps

When should I choose a magnetic-drive pump?

For toxic, flammable or expensive fluids, or fluids that must not escape into the environment. Magnetic drive eliminates the shaft seal, and with it the leaks through the seal.

Do you have ATEX versions of chemical pumps?

Many KSB series for the chemical industry have versions for ATEX zones. We confirm the version and documentation in the quote, based on the zone classification.

Which material is right for my acid?

It depends on the acid, its concentration and the temperature. Send us the fluid data and the engineer will choose the casing, impeller and seal materials.

Can you replace a chemical pump of another brand?

Yes. We start from the data of the existing pump and the fluid. For EN ISO 2858 standardised pumps we can often find an equivalent with the same installation dimensions.

Request

Pumping an aggressive or hazardous fluid?

Send the fluid, concentration, temperature, flow rate and head. The safety data sheet helps us.
